Getting connected

How do I check what internet packages are available at my address?

+

Enter your address in our coverage check. We'll show you the internet packages available at your home or business. Choose the package that suits you, enter your details, and we'll take care of the rest.

Which networks are you on?

+

Oxygn connects customers on all major open access fibre networks — including Openserve, Vumatel, MetroFibre, Octotel, Frogfoot, X-Fibre, DFA and Link Africa. Where fibre hasn't reached yet, we can offer LTE.

Will I have to pay a setup or installation fee?

+

No. Oxygn covers your setup and installation, so there's nothing to pay upfront. You simply start your monthly subscription once you're connected. In return, we ask for a 12-month commitment.

How long does installation take?

+

Fibre installations across the major network operators usually take 1 to 14 days, depending on the fibre network operator in your area. We follow up continuously and push to get you connected as quickly as possible. On the Oxygn network, installation is often completed within 5 days.

What happens during installation?

+

The fibre network operator brings the fibre cable from outside your property into your home or business, installs the fibre connection point, and activates the line. Oxygn then supplies your free to use Wi-Fi router. One of our dedicated technicians will install the router, connect your devices and check your Wi-Fi coverage so everything is set up properly from the start. In outer areas, we courier the router to you and assist you remotely.

How do I check the status of my order?

+

You won't need to chase us for updates. We'll keep you informed every step of the way, from scheduling your installation through to activation. You'll hear from us by WhatsApp, email or phone as things progress. And you can reach us any time for an update — call 032 815 0400, WhatsApp 079 952 6013, or email hello@oxygn.co.za.

Do I need a different router for fibre or can I use my existing router?

+

Yes. Fibre requires a compatible Wi-Fi router. Oxygn supplies a suitable router for your chosen package, free to use while you are with us.

When will I receive my free to use router?

+

After your fibre line has been installed and handed over to Oxygn by the fibre network operator, one of our dedicated technicians will install and configure your Wi-Fi router, connect your devices and check your Wi-Fi coverage to ensure everything is working as it should. If a technician visit is not available, we'll courier your router and provide remote assistance to help you get connected.

Billing

How does billing work?

+

We invoice you around the 23rd of each month, with payment due by the 1st. Everything is paid in advance, so you're always covered for the month ahead. If you're a new customer, your first invoice includes the pro-rata amount for your current month, added to your first full month.

When is my payment collected?

+

If you pay by debit order, we collect on the 26th, the 28th, or the last day of the month. We allow a short grace period; accounts unpaid by the 4th are suspended until settled.

Can I change my debit order date?

+

Yes. You can choose either the 26th or the 28th.

How do I update my banking or contact details?

+

You can update them yourself in your Oxygn Customer Zone, or email us at hello@oxygn.co.za and we'll take care of it.

How do I get a copy of my invoice?

+

Your invoices are available any time in your Customer Zone. Or email us at hello@oxygn.co.za and we'll send it through.

Your service

Can I upgrade or downgrade my package?

+

Yes. Upgrades are processed within a few days. Downgrades require a full calendar month to align with the fibre operator's terms and conditions.

What if I need stronger Wi-Fi through my home?

+

Just ask. If you'd like better coverage across a larger space, we'll look at what you need, quote you, and install it once you're happy. Mesh and additional equipment are there when you want them.

What happens if I move home?

+

Fibre stays with the address, not with you, so a connection can't move with you. You'd give one calendar month's notice to cancel at your current home, then place a new order for your new address — we'll check what's available and arrange your installation.

How do I cancel?

+

You can cancel any time with one calendar month's written notice to hello@oxygn.co.za. We collect your router at the end of the month. If you cancel within the first 12 months, you settle only part of the setup we covered.

Is my service uncapped and unthrottled?

+

Yes. Every package is uncapped, with no data limit, and we don't throttle normal use. Stream, work, game, and connect as many devices as you like.

Support

Can I reset my Wi-Fi password?

+

Yes. Message us and we'll reset it with you — it's a quick one. WhatsApp 079 952 6013, call 032 815 0400, or email hello@oxygn.co.za.

How do I run a speed test?

+

The easiest way is to use Speedtest.net, or the free Speedtest app from Ookla on your phone. For the most accurate reading, connect your device to the router with a LAN cable rather than over Wi-Fi.

What can affect my Wi-Fi performance?

+

A few everyday things: how far you are from the router, walls and floors in the way, interference from other electronics, and how many devices are online at once. Each can soften your Wi-Fi speed, even when your line is performing perfectly.

How can I improve my Wi-Fi coverage?

+

Every home is different, so if Wi-Fi struggles to reach a far room, the fix is usually extending your coverage rather than boosting the line. We can add mesh equipment to spread strong, even Wi-Fi across a larger space — just ask, and we'll recommend what suits your home.

What can I check before contacting support?

+

A few quick checks often resolve the issue: make sure both the connection point (ONT) and your router have power; check the cable between them is firmly seated at both ends; if those look fine, restart both by switching them off at the wall, waiting 3–4 minutes, then on again. Please don't press the reset button on the router — on some models this clears the configuration. If there's still a problem, please take a few photos — the front of the router and ONT with the lights visible, and the back of both devices — and send them to us on WhatsApp or email. Then get in touch, and we're on it.

What is an ONT and a CPE?

+

Two devices that get your home online. The ONT (Optical Network Terminal) is the small box the fibre operator installs — it's where the fibre line ends and your home network begins. Your router, sometimes called the CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), connects to it and creates your Wi-Fi. The operator provides the ONT; Oxygn provides the router.

What speed do I need for streaming and gaming?

+

As a rough guide: standard-definition streaming needs around 3–5 Mbps, HD around 5–10 Mbps, and 4K around 25 Mbps per stream. For optimal gaming you'll want around 25 Mbps, though it also depends on where the game server is located. Remember these add up — several people streaming and gaming at once is where a faster package earns its keep.
